WILLIAM J.S. BOYLE

WILLIAM J.S. BOYLE: It is not always clear how and why various members of the club wound up in the departure lounge. In some cases, of course, they retire gracefully after years of service. In others, there is reason to wonder who was a victim of a power play, who might have been unappreciated by a new regime, who is a refugee fleeing from a crumbling organization and who was executed by ruthless overlords eager to blame someone for whatever trouble they are in, according to The Star. WILLIAM J.S. BOYLE has been a dominant force at Harbourfront Centre for 30 years, first as founding director of the Power Plant art gallery and since 1991 as CEO of the whole centre. He has maintained an iron grip on power while presiding over an ongoing phenomenon with many facets. He has had a sweeping impact in innovative programming. An amazing number of our major arts organizations have parted ways with their top executives. There are enough of these ex-titans to start a club. Lets call them The Departed. The result: a lot of room at the top and a lot of work opps for head hunters. Without further ado, let me present members of the club who are either gone or going soon. (www.immigrantscanada.com).
