Betty Friedan: These are a collection of stories and poems describing the plight of overworked and undervalued women in Canada after the Second World War, according to The Chronicle Herald. Note: This book made me realize that, for the life of me, I cant recall the names of any Canadian counterparts and With Mothers Day approaching, this book is a timely recollection by baby-boomer daughters who grew up with mothers in the restrictive, restless era preceding the feminist movement. The vignettes illustrate young mothers gripped by simmering resentments, frustration and hopelessness.
