Migrants Dept: A statement from the National Immigration Institute says the arrests were made after authorities reinforced their checks along highways in Oaxaca state after hearing reports of at least 1,000 migrants travelling in a cargo train headed north, according to Vancouver Sun. It says the migrants were detained near the city of Ixtepec and in Oaxaca City. They will be deported, it added and MEXICO CITY - Mexican soldiers and federal police have detained 120 U.S.-bound Central American migrants who were travelling by bus through southern Mexico. The institute said Thursday 20 children are among those detained and that most of the detainees, 108, are from Guatemala.
