Otto Ullmann Dept: After a spell in a children home, Otto moved from house to house working as a farmhand. One of the farms was owned by the family of Ingvar Kamprad , then an enthusiastic member of a Swedish Nazi party. Otto and the one-year-younger Ingvar became close friends, according to The Star. When in the 1990s Kamprad Nazi past was made public, one of those he called to apologize for what he now saw as the folly of his youth was Otto Ullmann and Otto Ullmann was 13 when, shortly after the Nazi takeover of Austria in 1938, his parents sent him to Sweden under the auspices of an organization dedicated to the conversion of Jews. The family hoped to be reunited soon thereafter but it didnt happen. Otto parents perished in the Holocaust in 1944. Soon after Kamprad started IKEA, Otto went to work for him. But he left after some time, moving first to a big city and, soon after it was established in 1948, to Israel. But he returned to Sweden, married and had children there.
