Francisco Antonio Hiraldo-Guerrero: Federal Prosecutors

Dominican Navy Dept: Federal prosecutors said Monday that Francisco Antonio Hiraldo-Guerrero arrived in New York on Friday. He appeared in federal court in Manhattan on Saturday. He was the anti-drug agency's operations chief from 2006 to 2008 and an admiral in the Dominican Navy, according to Montreal Gazette. If convicted, he faces a maximum of life in prison and a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Immigration and Customs Enforcement official James Hayes said Hiraldo-Guerrero smuggled tons of cocaine into the United States from 2001 to 2009.
