Etihad Airways Dept: The airline announced Thursday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Etihad Airways, whose hub is in Abu Dhabi, for a code-share agreement on routes between the United Arab Emirates and Canada, according to The Star. In return, Air Canada would place its code on Etihad Airways flights between Toronto and Abu Dhabi, and its flights between London Heathrow airport and Abu Dhabi and Air Canada is negotiating a code-share agreement with a Gulf carrier rival that flies long-haul routes to the Middle East. The deal, which needs regulatory approval and likely wouldnt be introduced until later this year, would allow Etihad to place its airline code on Air Canada flights between Toronto and select North American cities.
