Dept: A brick schoolhouse that been a landmark in Kensington for nearly a century will remain in the hands of Calgary Catholic school board, a move that will preserve the building and forestall rumours it will be torn down, according to Calgary Herald. Since then, the school has been empty. But a plan is now in the works to move, before September, the board immigrant reception centre to St. John, from its current location at St. Angela school in Bridgeland and Calgary St. John school was shuttered last June when district trustees voted in favour of moving the school fine arts program out of the building and to St. Dominic, a school in Dalhousie.
