Gurmant Grewal: Langley-Clover

Wife Nina Dept: Grewal, whose wife Nina has been a Surrey MP since 2004, said he's considering a bid for the Conservative nomination in the proposed new Langley-Clover dale riding, next to his wife's Fleetwood-Port Kells riding, according to Vancouver Sun. Grewal was at the centre of a national political storm in 2005 when he released tapes suggesting that he was in negotiations to move to the minority Liberal government, along with his wife. Grewal maintained that he was a "whistleblower" simply trying to prove the Liberals were corrupt by offering him inducements to switch parties and controversial ex-MP Gurmant Grewal declared Friday that he has been vindicated and he is planning a political comeback. That could pit him against Liberal MLA David Hayer for the federal Tory nomination. Hayer has announced he won't run in the May provincial election as he prepares the ground for a bid to sit in the House of Commons in the 2015 election. (www.immigrantscanada.com).
