Khairi Dept: Khairi, a 65-year-old Afghan immigrant, was found guilty in November of fatally stabbing and slashing the throat of his wife Randjida Khairi in March 2008. She was 53, according to CBC. Khairi had told the court he acted in self-defence , alleging his wife tried to attack him with a knife and peer Khairi, a Toronto man who slit his wife s throat so deeply he nearly decapitated her, was sentenced to life in prison Monday with no chance of parole for 15 years.
