English Language Skills: European Immigrant

Student Body Dept: Our school's student body was made up of non-native kids born in Canada, a large population of European immigrant children with little or no English language skills, and local native children, who for the most part spoke English, but grammar and comprehension were a challenge, according to Vancouver Sun. I, along with a lot of my classmates, were on the receiving end of pointers across the knuckles for things like poor penmanship or being disruptive in the class and i am non-native and also attended a Catholic school in Prince Rupert from 1958 to 1966, which was staffed by nuns and Frontier apostles. Our apostolic teachers came not only from Ireland but Italy, France, England and other European countries, and my experiences related to discipline and punishment were very similar to what was described in the Sun articles. This was the norm. (www.immigrantscanada.com). As reported in the news.
