Canada Border Services Agency: The Government

Federal Government Dept: The Federal Court ruling raises the question of whether the government's program of outing individuals wanted for removal from the country could, in some cases, end up backfiring, according to Vancouver Sun. Since July 2011, the government has been posting on the Canada Border Services Agency's website the names, photographs and other details of individuals deemed inadmissible to the country and who have active warrants for their removal and a suspected foreign war criminal who faces deportation under the federal government's highly touted "most wanted" program will remain in Canada for now after a judge ordered a re-examination of his case because of concerns that publicity surrounding him could make him a target in his native Pakistan. A spokeswoman for Public Safety Minister Vic Toews said Thursday that the government is reviewing the court's decision but characterized the most-wanted program as an "outstanding success."
