Abbotsford: Investigation

Abbotsford Dept: Police said in a new release that their investigation began on Friday, just after 7 p.m., when an experienced bike squad officer observed a white mini-van travelling very slowly along the Canada-U.S. border in the Sumas Prairie area of Abbotsford, according to Vancouver Sun. The investigation revealed that the vehicle contained two Canadian and two Mexican citizens, the release said. More importantly, the cargo contained in the van included $250,000 in U.S. currency, a substantial amount of Canadian currency and a 9 mm handgun with a fully loaded magazine. METRO VANCOUVER - Abbotsford police are holding two Mexican citizens in custody and investigating two Canadians after $250,000 in cash and a 9 mm handgun were seized during a vehicle check on the weekend. The officer noticed that two of the men inside the van were wearing camouflaged clothing. A traffic stop was initiated with the assistance of Abbotsford officers in a patrol car.
