New Democrats: Victoria

Victoria Dept: Victoria was won by New Democrats by a large margin in the 2011 election, according to Vancouver Sun. In Victoria, NDP MP Denise Savoie, a schoolteacher and former city councillor, retired Aug. 31 and a trio of byelections set for Nov. 26 - including one in Victoria - is unlikely to yield major upsets for the federal parties. Similarly, Conservatives won big in both Calgary Centre and Durham, located just east of Toronto. No incendiary issues are at play in the three ridings, except perhaps whether Conservatives should be punished in Durham for the wild spending habits of former cabinet minister Bev Oda, who resigned last summer.
