Apathy Dept: On a chilly, rainy Friday night, nearly 50 people showed up at the Black Cultural Centre, showing anything but apathy at the idea that the centre will be shut, even temporarily, according to The Chronicle Herald. One woman in Friday s crowd described feeling as if she d experienced a death, hearing, to her surprise, that the centre s doors would be shut and in mid-October, the centre s board laid off three staff members and said the centre would be closed, except by special request, until next summer s tourist season.
