Mulgrave Park Breakfast Program Dept: On the surface, a last-minute donation of $9,000 by Nova Scotia Power to save the Mulgrave Park breakfast program is a generous act of charity, according to The Chronicle Herald. I m sure the people who run the program and receive its benefits are grateful to the corporation. And I hesitate to look a gift horse in the mouth, but this gesture from the power company wafted in with a distinct tinge of self-interest and in charity, money is the medium, but it s the spirit that counts. The program serves breakfast to children from single-parent and immigrant families in Mulgrave Park in Halifax. It was shut due to funding problems.
