Jason Kenney: Human Rights Violations

Immigration Laws Dept: Kenney included the new authority in a piece of legislation expected to be studied by the Commons immigration committee this fall, according to The Star. Critics say current immigration laws already allow border officials to refuse visitors admission to Canada for involvement in human rights violations, in criminal activity, security, health or financial reasons. At issue is the inconsistency with which the current law is applied, they say and immigration Minister Jason Kenney Jason Kenney is seeking a new power to bar certain people from entering Canada, an authority critics say he already has.
