On Saturday night, 6:30-11 p.m., Main Street, from People s Place Library to Chisholm Park, is transformed for an evening of creativity and imagination. At the 6:30 p.m. opening ceremony, Mayor Carl Chisholm will read a proclamation to kick off Culture Days in Antigonish as the town launches that event one weekend prior to the national volunteer-driven movement to raise people s awareness of and engagement in arts and culture and antigonight: Art After Dark starts indoors Friday, and then moves outdoors for Saturday night in downtown Antigonish. If it rains, the event goes ahead since there are lots of tents. The film Inocente will be screened at 8 p.m. It s a coming-of-age saga about a young artist s determination to never surrender to the bleakness of her situation as an undocumented Chicana immigrant in California.
