Nadezda Tolokonnikova: Tolokonnikova

Paul McCartney Dept: The plight of Nadezda Tolokonnikova and her two bandmates, who were jailed in March following a performance denouncing President Vladimir Putin in Moscow's main cathedral, has garnered international support, including the backing of celebrities such as Madonna and Paul McCartney, according to Vancouver Sun. A video posted online shows an interview with Tolokonnikova, one of the young female musicians, which reportedly aired in April. During the video, what appears to be a Canadian permanent resident card is shown, which includes her picture, name and birthdate and media reports suggested Thursday that one of the jailed Pussy Riot rockers may have permanent residency in Canada. The trio were sentenced to two years in prison on Friday on charges of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred. (www.immigrantscanada.com). As reported in the news.
