Municipal Police: Unfair Distribution

Provincial Police Dept: Montreal's police brotherhood and the federation representing municipal police forces in Quebec put a call out to party leaders to address what they call an unfair distribution of funding, according to CBC. The other 47 per cent is subsidized by tax-payers across the province, including those who live in cities served almost exclusively by municipal police and two organizations that represent municipal police in Quebec said municipal forces should be getting more money from the provincial government. According to the organizations, in municipalities served only by provincial police, residents pay 53 per cent of the force's security tab through taxes. 'We have more crimes to deal with, we have more work to do...' Denis C te, president of the federation that represents municipal police officers. (www.immigrantscanada.com). As reported in the news.
