Mike Leslie Dept: They're seeing more students with traditionally high marks going to summer school to get credits they didn't realize were needed to get into specific university programs, according to CBC. "Been a significant increase in the last three years through our immigrant programs here on Prince Edward Island," said Mike Leslie, co-ordinator of the secondary programs with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and more students are registering for summer school on P.E.I., according to education officials. But there is also a great demand for English as an additional language courses, as a number of immigrant students use the summer period to improve their skills.
