Public Services Dept: The letter said the Human Resources Minister has been identified as an affected employee and her services as an MP may no longer be required due to "reckless cuts to public services.", according to CBC. "I felt that because all of my members were getting affected notices it would be only fair to give her one," she said. " I honestly feel I have to do something. I just can't sit back and take this knowing what they are doing to public services, knowing what they are doing to Islanders, Canadians, with all these cuts to the public service," and diane Finley received a fake notice Thursday in Charlottetown informing her that her services as an MP are no longer needed. Donna MacDonald, the national vice-president for the Canada Employment and Immigration Union, delivered the notice to the minister at the Charlottetown airport. She said she received a letter about her own federal job.
