Federal Government Dept: More than 800 amendments to Bill C-38 were put forward in recent days, but House Speaker Andrew Scheer rejected some of the amendments and grouped others together, according to CTV. The voting is expected to begin late afternoon or early evening Wednesday, after the current round of debate ends. The 10-hour limit was put to a vote on Tuesday, which the Conservatives won with a tally of 157-135 and the federal government won a vote Tuesday restricting debate on its massive budget bill to 10 hours, paving the way for a marathon session of Parliament when MPs vote on a long list of amendments put forward by the opposition. He ruled Monday that between 67 and 159 amendments will go to a vote -- a process that is expected to take more than 24 hours of consecutive voting.
