She added the person recently travelled outside of Canada and the source of the exposure is under investigation and toronto Western Hospital is treating a man for rabies in the first local human case of the disease in more than 80 years. The person is receiving appropriate special care, said department spokeswoman Jennifer Veenboer. But the public is not at risk to exposure. All the appropriate precautions have been taken.
