Detention Centre Dept: A Federal Court of Canada hearing was held in her case Saturday afternoon and a judge decided to delay the deportation, pending a federal court review of the removal order in the coming months, according to Montreal Gazette. "We're hoping it will be a no-brainer, so she can leave the detention centre and get the help she needs with her health problems," Wong said. She added that the woman suffers from a neurological condition and has been seeing a neurologist for six years and a young woman fighting deportation to Pakistan has been granted a stay on her removal order. She fears repercussions in Pakistan for having alleged she was sexually assaulted by a wealthy businessman in Montreal. The woman is being held at an immigration detention centre in Laval and was supposed to be deported on Sunday. Instead, there will be a detention review on Monday morning, said Rosalind Wong of Movement Against Rape and Incest, one of three groups that have taken on the 20-year-old woman's cause.
