House Of Commons Dept: I have seen, firsthand, cases where legitimate visitors want to come to Canada but were rejected for no reason, the New Democrat MP Vancouver-Kingsway and immigration critic told a Brampton news conference Sunday, according to The Star. This week, Davies will table two private member s bills in the House of Commons that require the government to provide a detailed explanation when applicants are denied a visitor s visa and allow an appeal to the decision if the applicant feels it s erroneous and like his fellow MPs, Don Davies is contacted by constituents on a regular basis complaining that their family and relatives abroad can t attend their weddings or funerals because Ottawa refuses their visitor s visa applications. This is unacceptable and the system needs more transparency to fix the problem of random denials and rejections, Davies said.
