Western Canada Dept: Statistics Canada counted 33,476,688 people in its May, 2011 census , a 5.9 per cent increase over the 2006 national count, according to The Star. Cities in Western Canada like Calgary, Edmonton and Saskatoon saw double-digit jumps in population growth and oTTAWA Canada is growing and going west.
