Super Visa

Dept: The new, 10-year Super Visa was announced in November. It will allow applicants to remain in Canada for up to 24 months at a time without having to renew their status, according to Winnipeg Free Press. With current family-class processing times, it can take someone eight years to immigrate to Canada to join their kids or grandkids. With the Super Visa, they could be visiting here in about eight weeks, the government says. To be eligible, they have to undergo a medical exam and submit proof they have medical insurance. The child or grandchild they re coming to visit has to meet certain income requirements. It s a quicker way for families to reunite, the government says. (www.immigrantscanada.com).
