Justice Thomas Dept: With the release of recommendations by the Braidwood inquiry in 2008, an inquest would no longer serve the public interest, said coroner Barb McLintock, according to Vancouver Sun. In February 2008, the provincial government setup a two-phase public inquiry into Dziekanski's death headed by retired B.C. Appeal Court Justice Thomas Braidwood and there will be no inquest into the death of Robert Dziekanski, the Polish immigrant who died after being Tasered by the RCMP at Vancouver International Airport in 2007, the BC Coroners Service has confirmed.
