Federal Tories Dept: In an unusual turn, members of the federal government have directly taken on provincial politicians in recent weeks, according to The Chronicle Herald. On Prince Edward Island, Liberals are quietly seething despite Robert Ghiz s re-election with a majority government. They accuse the federal Tories, in particular Senator Mike Duffy and Citizenship and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney, of trying to steal the election for the Tories and the Harper Conservatives have crossed a dangerous line by meddling in provincial elections, opposition party members claim. The most famous case happened in the Ontario race when federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty openly blasted the Liberals, saying the province "can t afford four more years of the same Dalton McGuinty government."
