Movers Shakers: Design Awards

Chairwoman Dept: The awards, established in 2010 by Fusion Halifax, recognize young movers, shakers and difference makers and are designed to honour people age 20 to 40, except for the Metropolitan and Urban Design awards, which are open to all HRM residents, according to The Chronicle Herald. "The GO Awards showcase our members and others in the community who are passionate about creating change, professionally and personally," said Fusion Halifax chairwoman Jennifer Berry, in a news release and nine winners were celebrated at the 2011 GO Awards in front of a sold-out crowd at the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax Saturday. Twenty-seven finalists were selected by Fusion Halifax, an organization created by and for young people who are inspired to make their city a better, more sustainable place to live, work and play.
