Canadian Prairies Dept: The film, co-produced by Ontario-based Enigmatico Films and Winnipeg s Buffalo Gal Pictures, tells the story of a Norwegian immigrant who suffers all manner of financial and familial stress and Depression-era tragedy on the Canadian Prairies during the 1920s and 30s, according to Winnipeg Free Press. Filming will take place for the next two weeks in Winnipeg and several rural Manitoba locations, including Selkirk and Holland and canadian actors Gil Bellows, Martha Burns, Aidan Devine and Rachel Blanchard have dropped anchor in Winnipeg to begin shooting on a feature film titled Mad Ship . The cast also includes Danish star Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Norwegian actress Line Verndal. The director is David Mortin.
