Act Amendments Dept: Moore, described this week by Maclean's magazine as one of the four most-influential people in Prime Minister Stephen Harper's government along with Calgary's Jason Kenney, is pushing to get long-awaited Copyright Act amendments through the House of Commons by Christmas, according to Vancouver Sun. Moore's interests also include supporting Enbridge Inc.'s controversial $5.5-billion Northern Gateway initiative to send Alberta oilsands crude by pipeline to tankers in Kitimat and james Moore, B.C.'s senior minister in the federal cabinet and an 11-year House of Commons veteran despite being just 35 years old, heads into the autumn parliamentary session that starts Monday with some clear objectives. On the west coast, he also wants to work with Premier Christy Clark to make further investments aimed at removing transportation bottlenecks that slow Canadian trade with U.S. and Asian markets. And he also has plans with Victoria to streamline federal and provincial environmental assessment processes.
