Raza Hassan and his wife, along with their six children, had lived in the Crescent Fort Rouge United Church from August 2006 to February 2008 to avoid deportation to Pakistan. Raza Hassan and his family inside the Crescent Fort Rouge United Church in 2007 and a family that lived in fear of deportation for five years, seeking sanctuary in a Winnipeg church basement part of that time, has finally gained residency status.
