Defence Team Dept: Tahawwur Rana, a 50-year old businessman from Ottawa, has been on trial in a Chicago courtroom for three weeks on several counts of providing material support for terrorism in connection with the Mumbai massacre and an unexecuted plot to attack a Danish newspaper, according to CBC. Rana emigrated to Canada from Pakistan in 1997, staying just long enough to become a Canadian citizen before moving to Chicago to open a branch of his successful immigration consulting business and the defence team of a Canadian citizen accused in the United States of playing a crucial role in the 2008 Mumbai attacks rested its case on Monday after calling just two witnesses.
