Thursday Night Dept: That was the message scrawled in pink and attached to a fence outside Scarborough’s 30-year-old multilingual Progress Child Care Centre where parents of nearly 100 children heard Friday morning the daycare would close at the end of the day, according to The Star. “We were in shock,” said Maria Wisniowska, who has worked at Progress for 11 years. “Mayor Ford, we need help.” Workers at the licensed, subsidized centre, where most parents pay what they can, only heard the news themselves Thursday night.
