Criminal Gangs: Immigration Minister

Jason Kenney Dept: Citizenship and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney made the announcement during question period Thursday and will later hold a press conference with Public Safety Minister Vic Toews, according to CBC. "But what we will not accept, Mr. Speaker, are criminal gangs seeking to abuse this country's generosity, treat Canada like a doormat by facilitating the illegal and dangerous entry of people paying tens of thousands of dollars to smuggling syndicates," said Kenney and the federal government plans to reintroduce a bill aimed at cracking down on human smuggling.
