"A lot of the Chinese community from Richmond travel and when they do, they want to find good Chinese restaurants. Their first meal on a trip might not be Chinese food but by the second, they need their rice bowl. That's just the way it is," he says. "When Richmond and Vancouver Tourism brought tour agents from China to see the cities, they went to a steak restaurant. Then it was 'Now let's go for Chinese food.' Their day is not complete without that round table, sharing of multiple dishes, fresh food." The other hot North American cities known for Chinese restaurants aren't the ones you might expect. It's not San Francisco or New York or L.A. In fact, Craig Stowe, director of the Metro Vancouver's Chinese Restaurant Awards CRA says next year, the awards will include restaurants from those cities.
