Shell Canada Dept: The national review comes after a Postmedia News story revealed that a landed immigrant worked at a Shell gas station in Ottawa's west end for two months without getting paid, according to Vancouver Sun. His boss, a retailer who runs four Shell gas bars in Ottawa, said Choudhury never asked for a salary, and he only took him on as a favour to get him experience on the machines and better his English by talking to customers and shell Canada has launched a review of its 1,600-plusstation retail network to ensure its operators understand labour regulations -notably that employees in training are supposed to get paid. Mizanur Choudhury, 60, wore a uniform and worked the cash register behind the counter in February and March. But when he asked when he would be paid, he said he was told he didn't get paid for training. As reported in the news.
