Ndp Candidate Dept: With just 35 out of 223 polls reporting, Liberal Bernard Patry, who has cruised to five consecutive election wins, going back to 1993, was trailing the NDP candidate. Lysane Blanchette-Lamothe had 2,029 votes, and 36.2 per cent of the vote, to Patry's 1,733 for 30.9 per cent of the vote, according to Montreal Gazette. Lac-Saint-Louis has a population of 105,622, and includes Pointe Claire, Kirkland, Beaconsfield, Ste. Anne de Bellevue, Baie d'Urf , Senneville and a part of Pierrefonds and liberals weren't even safe in the traditional bastion of the West Island, where an hour after the polls closed, both incumbents appeared to be trailing. In Lac-Saint-Louis, Francis Scarpaleggia was leading the NDP candidate Alain Ackad by less than 100 votes with 70 out of 229 polls reporting. Conservative candidate Larry Smith was a close third. As
