Vancouver Area Dept: On Tuesday Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson and Dennis Chan, the chair of the not-for-profit group, signed a memorandum of understanding in which the city will help identify and possibly finance property that can be used for supportive housing, according to Vancouver Sun. The agreement between the city and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is a natural extension of the non-profit group's community services programs, which began nearly four decades ago, said CEO Thomas Tam and vancouver and S.U.C.C.E.S.S., an immigrant settlement and housing society, have become partners in an effort to find and build more affordable housing for seniors and the homeless. By the end of the year, the two partners hope to begin construction on housing somewhere in the Vancouver area, Robertson said. But it will depend upon cooperation with the provincial government and other funding agencies that can help underwrite the cost. As
