North Surrey Dept: On Wednesday, incumbent North Surrey Conservative MP Dona Cadman did not appear at an all-candidates meeting hosted by the Surrey Downtown Business Improvement Association, while earlier this week, Conservative candidate Ronald Leung did not participate in an all-candidates meeting at Moscrop secondary school, according to Vancouver Sun. Bonnie Burnside of the SDBIA said Cadman had originally accepted an invitation to the all-candidates meeting and had been sent a list of questions, including one on the HST and the NDP is accusing Conservative candidates in Surrey and Burnaby ridings of ducking public debates. NDP press secretary Shamus Reid said Cadman was continuing "to duck, dodge and hide" to avoid being questioned about her decision to absent herself from a vote on combining the goods and services tax with the provincial sales tax to create the HST. She had earlier promised to vote against the HST, which would have put her at odds with her party, but then was nowhere to be seen when the vote was called in Parliament. As
