Justin Trudeau: Austrian Accent

Canadian Politician Dept: All right, I confess: That's not really from the OED; it's from Conan the Barbarian. But you get the point -you don't need to consult the august reference book to find out what a barbarian is, since even Hollywood can provide an accurate description, provided you ignore the bad acting and the Austrian accent, according to Vancouver Sun. Trudeau did not, however, suggest such killings are acceptable -in fact, he specifically said they should be described as "totally unacceptable." Despite that, the comments sparked a feeding frenzy in Ottawa, as the election-ready Conservatives pounced on Trudeau, demanding an apology and a pint of his blood or something and according to the Oxford English Dictionary, a barbarian is one who believes it is good to "crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentation of their women." Nevertheless, one Canadian politician does seem to be oblivious to the meaning of "barbarian." That politician, who shall remain nameless but whose initials are Justin Trudeau, found himself deep in the "semantic weeds" this week after expressing discomfort with the new citizenship guide's description of "honour killing" as barbaric. As reported in the news.
