Canadian Workforce: Montreal Massacre

Dec 6 1989 Dept: That's when a hate-filled young man named Marc Lepine took his semiautomatic rifle into Montreal's L'Ecole Polytechnique and systematically shot dead 14 women, including 12 engineering students, a nursing student and a university employee, according to Vancouver Sun. It forever seared in the public's mind the right of women to move into the top echelons of higher education, the professions and business and the most horrible moment linked to the cause of women's advancement in the Canadian workforce came on Dec. 6, 1989.
