New Immigrants: Skilled Worker

Economic Class Dept: New figures obtained through Access to Information show the government will cut all economic class visas by nearly seven per cent, and federal skilled worker visas specifically by 20 per cent, in 2011, according to CBC. "The news although we're very attentive, isn't in any way likely to affect Saskatchewan meeting its immigration targets." Saskatchewan's immigration minister believes he can meet the province's goals for new immigrants despite fewer federal visas for skilled workers being issued. "We anticipate we're going to continue to meet our targets," said Saskatchewan Immigration Minister Rob Norris. As reported in the news.
