Labour Of Love: Picture Window

Bayswater Dept: But this is no ordinary renovation. This is a labour of love, according to Vancouver Sun. Framed in a picture window overlooking the side yard, where Nick's mother once clipped roses to hand to passersby, and his father roasted lamb on a spit, is a life-size sepia-toned photo of Nick's parents and at the corner of Bayswater and Sixth stands a house under construction. The structure is gutted and empty, and the only sound is the thud of workmen's boots, hammers ringing and splintering wood. Nick Kanavaros, the son of working-class Greek immigrant parents, grew up here. Now he plans to move back. As reported in the news.
