Canada Border Services Agency: Refugee Status

Chamagne Dept: Executive director Julie Chamagne said Thursday her group was contacted by the Canada Border Services Agency, according to CBC. "At the moment they're being detained on immigration grounds for lack of identification or perhaps because they're considered a flight risk," she said and two people discovered aboard a container ship in Halifax are claiming refugee status, says the Halifax Refugee Clinic. She said she knew little about the two stowaways, but planned to meet them soon to explain the immigration process. As reported in the news.
