Muslim Mosques: Labour Organizations

Public Outcry Dept: Kudos to Conservative Immigration Minister Jason Kenney and Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff for their strong condemnations of the recent vandalism at several Montreal synagogues and a Jewish school, according to The Star. Racism and extremism know no religious or cultural boundaries and in order to safeguard our traditional values of decency, fairness, and compassion, we must lock arms united against all forms of bigotry, else no group is safe from attack and re: Jewish community voices fears over attacks, Jan. 18 Such cowardly acts could equally have targeted Sikh temples, Buddhist shrines, Muslim mosques, Christian churches, abortion clinics, or gay social halls. They tear at the fabric of our peaceful way of life, and so the absence of denunciations of this hate crime and the lack of public outcry from other religious, ethnic, community, or labour organizations is a sad commentary that these groups are either afraid to speak out or don t give a damn when fellow Canadians are in danger.
