Remarkable Programs Dept: This list is subjective, sure -- reality shows aren't my scene, and neither are prime-time soaps -- but what jumped out this past year was not how little was worth watching, but how much. Stephen Colbert, TV's most trusted purveyor of "truthiness," had a very good year in 2010, beginning with his invention of a new "high-definition touch screen" in a January segment, and ending with his Halloween-eve Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear with Jon Stewart on Washington, D.C.'s National Mall and there's too much on TV these days. A lot of junk, sure -- more junk than a reasonable person should keep track of -- but there are some remarkable programs, too.
