Unprecedented Move: Northwind

Three Women Dept: In what is believed to be an unprecedented move in Alberta, Court of Queen's Bench Justice Suzanne Bensler announced a verdict after accepting arguments by the lawyers for Kendall and Northwind Hart, according to Calgary Herald. "I've been a judge for 16 years now and I've never done what I have to do today," she said. "As I told you at the beginning of the trial, you were the judges and triers of the facts and I am the judge of the law and a judge took the decision away from a jury Wednesday and acquitted two brothers of fatally stabbing a Somalian immigrant nearly two years ago. She then apologized to the jury of nine men and three women and said she understood if some of them felt the court had wasted their time over the three-week trial. As reported in the news.
