Immigration: Canadian Contributions

Dacosta Dept: Kudos to Enza Martuccelli and Peter Caruana, who have expressed indignation at the kind of coverage their community has received recently and the necessity of having to defend Italian-Canadian contributions to our society, according to Montreal Gazette. The need is now and the time is now! Re: "We're not mobsters" Opinion, Nov. 18 and "Brava Enza" Letters, Nov. 19 . Their need to explain themselves underlines the need for the museum and cultural observatory the DaCosta-Angelique Institute has been working to bring about. The Musee-Observatoire de l'immigration that we hope to house in the old Dow Planetarium will be similar to the pattern set by the recently established Cite nationale de l'histoire de l'immigration in Paris.
